  • Weaver’s Homemade Sausage Lasagna

    Lasagna

    ingredients

    Meat Sauce Ingredients:  

    1/2 lb. hot Italian sausage

    1/2 lb. sweet Italian sausage

    1 quart tomatoes with juice

    1 small can tomato paste

    Oregano

    basil

    salt

    Cheese Filling Ingredients:

    1 pint fresh ricotta

    3 heaping tablespoons dried parsley

    1/2 cup grated Parmigiano-Reggiano

    1/2 teaspoon black pepper

    1 egg

    Additional Ingredients:

    1 lb. lasagna noodles, soaked

    1/2 lb. mozzarella shredded

    12 lb. provolone shredded

    Grated Parmigiano-Reggiano

    directions

    1. Brown meat and drain.

    2. Add tomatoes and paste; oregano, basil, and salt, as desired.

    3. Cover and simmer for 30 minutes.

    4. Combine all cheese filling ingredients.

    5. In a 9"x 9" pan, layer 1/2 of the noodles, 1/2 of the cheese filling, 1/2 of the sauce, and 1/2 of the shredded cheeses. Repeat and top generously with grated parmesan.

    6. Bake, uncovered, at 325° for 30 minutes.
